Chelsea Austin, MPH
President
Chelsea Austin founded WildBlue Evaluation LLC in 2020, to integrate the growing edges of evaluative practice with the burgeoning, complex issues wrought by climate change. Since earning her degree in business entrepreneurship 15 years ago, Chelsea has distiniguished her career by merging her commitment to innovation with the panorama of scientific discovery. After completing her public health studies, she went on to graduate from a highly competitive, federal fellowship in evaluation. From there, she led evaluation programs at local, state, and national levels focused on environmental health and climate change. She has assisted climate change initiatives across a range of environmental hazards, governance contexts, and political environments. In 2018, she led the creation of a national monitoring system for state and local adaptation for the U.S. In 2019, she completed an award-winning animation series on evaluation and climate change.
Her past clients have included both public and private entities, with whom she established robust learning systems for social and ecological work. Additionally, she has taught and consulted international audiences on climate adaptation and evaluation.
Wildblue Evaluation, LLC inherits her evaluation approach: humility in learning, a firm adherence to ethical standards, endurance for the difficult conversations, and profound joy. And, as a lover and creator in the aural and visual arts, she never misses a beat in inviting symbols, color, sound, and moving images into the evaluation process.
